Role Overview
We are looking for a Founding AI Research Engineer to join Rexplore at an early stage and help shape both our research direction and core technology stack. This role is for someone who thrives at the intersection of theory and practice and is excited to build learning systems from the ground up. As a founding team member, you will work closely with the Founder and research leadership to design, implement, and deploy AI systems that continuously learn and adapt. You will have significant influence over technical decisions, research priorities, and long-term architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and experiment with reinforcement learning and autonomous agent systems
- Translate research ideas into scalable, production-ready implementations
- Build learning loops that integrate data collection, decision making, and feedback
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deploy AI systems in real-world settings
- Run experiments, evaluate models, and iterate based on empirical results
- Contribute to research documentation, technical reports, and publications where appropriate
- Help define best practices for research engineering and AI infrastructure
Requirements
- Strong background in machine learning, reinforcement learning, or related areas
- Experience implementing learning algorithms using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Solid programming skills in Python and experience with data pipelines and experimentation
- Ability to reason about algorithms, trade-offs, and system design
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, early-stage environments
- Strong curiosity and willingness to learn continuously
- Experience with multi-agent systems, sequential decision making, or simulation environments is a plus
- MSc or PhD in Computer Science, AI, or a related field preferred
